The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District has released the new start and end times for Southern Peninsula schools.
The new schedule, which goes into effect in the 2017 school year, includes 10 schools in Homer, Anchor Point and Ninilchik.
Pegge Erkeneff is a spokesperson for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. She says the District solicited community feedback about the proposed schedule changes through public meetings and online surveys.
“The principals of the 10 schools plus district administrators met and took all of that information together, looked at all the different options and what needed to happen based on transportation times that would be necessary between when one school started and another school started in order to do our bus transportation,” said Erkeneff.
Next year's bus routes have not yet been finalized, says Erkeneff. Route information will be released to parents in the summer of 2017.
