Longtime Homer Doctor Set To Retire

South Peninsula Hospital

A longtime family physician in Homer is retiring.

After 20 years in practice, Dr. Randy Wiest is stepping down from medical practice at the end of this month, according to a release from South Peninsula Hosptital.

For the last two decades, Wiest has worked at the Homer Medical Center and as a member of the active medical staff at South Peninsula Hospital.

As needed, he also worked in the hospital’s emergency department and acute care unit, the hospital says.

The public is invited to attend a retirement party for Dr. Wiest on Friday, March 31, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Beluga Lake Lodge.
