Dancers warm up before a rehearsal earlier this week (Aaron Selbig photo)

The annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet is an institution in Homer, where the show has gone on for 25 years. The production was revamped three years ago when directors Breezy Berryman and Jennifer Norton took over and inserted new elements like “steampunk” sets and dubstep musical elements. KBBI’s Aaron Selbig sat in on a rehearsal of the Nutcracker this week, watching the cast and crew of dozens of children and adults get ready to take the stage this weekend. He brought back this audio postcard (click "play" link above).
