A Homer-based reality TV show that debuted in 2011 has proven popular enough to return for a second season.
“Alaska: The Last Frontier” premiered in December of last year. The hour-long show portrays the homesteader lifestyle led by members of the Kilcher clan, many of whom still live on the 600-plus-acre spread out East End Road that patriarch Yule Kilcher first homesteaded during World War II.
According to a press release from the Discovery Channel, the Kilchers will return to TV screens this year – this time with a new title song written and performed by Atz Kilcher and his daughter, Jewel.
The first episode of Season Two of “Alaska: The Last Frontier” is set to air Tuesday, October 2nd. On local GCI cable in Homer, the start time of the show is listed as 8 p.m.
