HHS Hockey Team Stays Undefeated

     The Homer High School hockey team won all four of its games at the three-day End of the Road Shootout in Homer to win its home-ice tournament. The Peninsula Clarion reports that the undefeated Mariners are now 6-0 overall.

     Bartlett High took second at the tournament with a 3-0-1 record. Hutchison was third with a 3-1 record. Kenai finished the tournament 2-2.

     In its run to the tournament title, Homer defeated Delta Junction, Hutchison and Glenallen by a combined score of 23-2, before facing Houston in the championship game Saturday. Kiril Sanarov scored two goals for the Mariners as they beat the Hawks, 5-3.

     Homer coach Buck Laukitis said his squad is looking forward to getting into North Star Conference play Tuesday, when the Mariners host Soldotna at 5:30 p.m.
