Enstar Crews Fan Out Across Homer to Install Gas Network

Ariel Van Cleave

Crews working on the natural gas trunk line into Homer should be in the West Hill Road area later this week. According to Enstar Natural Gas, workers also will be moving toward Fairview Avenue as well. A second pipe-laying crew is working towards Anchor Point with pipe stringing, welding and testing. Drivers should expect workers near the Old Sterling Highway and New Sterling Highway intersection.

Brushing work is nearly complete in Kachemak City and installation of the distribution system’s main and service lines is scheduled to start in June.

Crews with Utility Technologies, Incorporated will be installing the distribution main line for Homer from the foot of West Hill Road, along the Sterling Highway and into town. Crews will be working toward Lake Street and across Beluga Lake while continuing toward the airport. That work is set to begin early this month.

Enstar reminds drivers to be careful around equipment, survey and construction crews as they install pipe.
