2024 Mary Epperson Folk Music Camp
July 15th – 19th 10am -4pmOpen to ages 8-17
The emphasis of Mary Epperson Music Camp is to have fun playing music!
Each student will select their classes from a list of options. We will do our best to place students in requested classes as well as an ensemble group of 4-7 students.
Each day will consist of a whole group gathering, 3 separate 45-minute class blocks, the ensemble rehearsal, and a group close-out.
On Friday, student ensembles will perform from 3-4 for each other and invited guests!
To register, complete the ticket purchase and fill out the camp registration packet by July 7th.
Applications are open for the Ron Senungetuk Summer Youth Arts Scholarship through April 27th!
Homer-area students currently enrolled in grades 6 through 11 are invited to apply for summer arts scholarships. Students must currently attend school in the Homer area and plan to return to school in the Homer area for the 2023-24 school year. Complete applications and supporting materials are due to Homer Council on the Arts no later than 5:00pm on Saturday, April 27th.

April’s Yoga classes will be led by Rachael Mannix Schmoker. She was born and raised in Fairbanks, is a Holistic Health, Ayurvedic, and Reiki Practitioner, Health Coach, an Experienced RYT-200 Yoga Instructor and Yoga Alliance Contributing Education Provider. Rachael teaches yoga at Dharmic Spruce and the Hot Yoga Yurt weekly. Her classes are informed through a somatic and therapeutic context, highlighting body awareness to find the right movements for each person. Classes emphasize using breath as the key to strength and restoration. Each week classes are informed by you! As you recognize what you need - energy or rest, and specific areas to target in the body - back, hips, chest, etc. Rachael will design classes based off who is in the room for a Somatically Aligned hour of movement!Bring yourself and come unwind from your day!

Please join us for Walking Each Other Home, a Death Doula training program. This program trains new and current Hospice volunteers to become a Death Doula to serve the Homer Community. The majority of training is done via Zoom and the schedule varies. Participants receive their End of Life Death Doula Certification through University of Vermont College of Medicine.
